News from the City of Phoenix:
A new exhibition of artwork called “Reimagined Trash” opens Monday, Feb. 27, 2017 at both the Gallery @ City Hall and Arizona Science Center. The artwork offers new perspectives on re-using materials and items recycled at the city’s 27th Avenue Solid Waste Management Facility. In 2016, Christine Lee and Ann Morton were named artists in residence for a new collaboration between the city of Phoenix Office of Arts and Culture Public Art Program and Reimagine Phoenix – a city of Phoenix Public Works Department waste diversion initiative. The two artists worked on-site for six months, studying ways to turn recycled materials into resources for new ideas and objects. What they have come up with will surprise Phoenix residents!
The city of Phoenix Office of Arts and Culture, in partnership with Reimagine Phoenix and Arizona Science Center, is celebrating the artwork of Ann Morton and Christine Lee at both locations with a reception on Monday, March 6, 2017, 5 p.m. – 8 p.m., with trolley transportation provided between both locations.
The exhibitions will be on view until August 25, 2017.
